The people of The Philippines are a precious people. There are more than 40 different ethnic groups in the Philippines. Each group has a distinct culture and language. Some 70 native languages are spoken in the Philippines. Several of these ethnic groups can be distinguished as "tribal groups". They are 'indigenous groups' who still live in a rather traditional way. Each group lives in a specific region on one of the islands. They are living in a land prone to natural disasters such as landslides, earthquakes, typhoons, and monsoons. Living within an entirely tropical zone, the weather is warm and humid year round. Typical for the Philippines are the many festivals and processions.  The explanation for the most of all these fiestas has to be found in the domination of one specific religion in the Philippines, the Catholic religion. Nearly 90% of the Filipinos are Roman Catholic.

We will be involved in a variety of ministry settings that will include one-on-one evangelism, crusades, Church services and children's programs.  We will work hard in assisting the local pastors.  Your life will be used to touch people who need to know God's desire to have a personal relationship with them.  Relationships will be formed not only between you and your teammates but also between Christ and many Filipinos.  This will be a life transforming trip!  You will go to be a blessing, but you will come back having been blessed yourself!
